GCCM’s environmental goals include:
Minimising waste generation by use of cleaner operational techniques and increasing diversion from landfill through new recycling initiatives and the establishment of a circular economy
Operating all shipyard and marina activities in compliance with statutory requirements for protecting the environmental values of air, noise and water
Achieving best practice environmental management in the design and implementation of shipyard operations to develop a circular economy.
Work towards the goal of eliminating single-use plastics by 2025.
Maintain International 5 Gold Anchor, Clean Marina – Level 3 & Fish Friendly certification.

Treatment and recycling plants for boat washdown water
Largest solar power marine facility in the world
Onsite waste resource recovery centre
Fish friendly initiatives including eliminating the use of plastic bags, no fishing & providing information on local fish types, limitations and sustainable fishing guidelines.
Partnership with QUT: Centre for a Waste Free World to understand waste streams and establish a circular economy within the shipyard
