Benetti, IGY Marinas select GCCM as strategic partner
Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard (GCCM) has been selected by both Benetti and IGY Marinas as a strategic partner for exceptional service delivery in Australia and the Pacific.
In separate discussions, GCCM has been appointed the Preferred Service Provider for Benetti owners and crew and IGY included the facility as a strategic partner in their Anchor Club. It is the only facility in Australia to be formally appointed.
“We believe Australia holds a significant place in the global industry both as a pool of future yachts owners and as a world-class refit and maintenance destination. GCCM is at the forefront of this by forging these relationships with Benetti and IGY Marinas. We are aligning ourselves with the best in the global business not only to the benefit of our facility and tenants, but to the Australia brand,” explained Kevin Altera, General Manager of Business Development and Operations at GCCM.
Benetti’s owners will have priority access to the 175,000sqm facility including 20 refit sheds for yachts up to 50m, 75m superyacht work basin, and 80 onsite trades employing over 700 qualified tradespeople.
“GCCM is situated at a prominent location on Queensland’s Gold Coast and has advanced facilities, which attract both local and international superyachts,” said Benetti Asia’s General Manager, Peter Mahony.
“It’s certainly a pleasure to partner up with GCCM to achieve a win-win solution to offer Benetti Owners more options in the Pacific Ocean to explore. Benetti remains firmly committed to supporting GCCM, the local yachting industry and infrastructure for the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous in which we participated this year. We are very much looking forward to the next rendezvous with passion and dedication.”
IGY Marinas has operating facilities throughout the Americas and Caribbean and have recently announced their second Mediterranean facility in Sardinia. IGY created a network of Strategic Partners as part of the Anchor Club and GCCM is the only partner in the southern hemisphere to be included in the exclusive club.
“We’re excited to have Gold Coast City Marina and Shipyard as an IGY Anchor Club Strategic Partner. The addition of GCCM to our list of partners provides great benefit to vessels travelling throughout the Pacific and builds a strong relationship between a marina and shipyard in Australia and the IGY Marinas worldwide network,” said Kay Mellinger, Sales and Marketing Manager of IGY Marinas.
These are two of the latest strategic partnerships for GCCM whose connections also include being the Australian chapter in the Seal Superyachts network.
Trenton Gay, CEO of GCCM stated, “We are proud that both Benetti and IGY Marinas have recognised the world-class facilities and services we have at GCCM. These relationships along with our existing partnership with Seal Superyachts, the Australian Superyacht Rendezvous and the response to our plans for a newly announced Marine Innovation Hub add enormous confidence to our growth plans. We are continually reinvesting into our soft and hard infrastructure to offer our clients the very best, but also to strengthen Australia’s position in the global superyacht industry.” www.gccm.com.au
