Waterlife
Bar & Restaurant is quite the institution at Gold
Coast City Marina, and a well hidden secret that’s
many things to many people. It’s the only spot
to grab a coffee if you want to be abreast of industry
news. It’s a boardroom by the water, a networking
venue without the awkward introductions, a sunny spot
to enjoy beer with friends but above all, a place
to enjoy some seriously great food and wine.
David and his team at Waterlife have worked together
to create a wonderful atmosphere and a superb European
inspired menu. As you would expect, service at Waterlife
is without a doubt relaxed and friendly, yet with
professional attention. It’s clear the team
here love what they do, and with that water view,
how could they not.
Those international
influences from Chefs who have travelled the world,
are evident given early morning offerings such as
the Bruschetta Breakfast – grilled ciabatta
topped with crispy bacon, diced Spanish onion, plump
roma tomatoes, avocado, basil and a perfectly poached
egg. It’s a wonderful variation on a
traditional Italian classic.
For those
leaning towards something a little lighter, you can’t
go past organic muesli for that healthy kick start
to the day. With breakfast on the menu until 11.30am,
the extensive menu also includes a range of delicate
omelettes, eggs benny, muffins, freshly squeezed juice,
or for those needing some help to get started, just
a straight up espresso.
Lunch overlooking
the boats is something different altogether, with
nothing over $16.50 and prices ranging from $6.90.
The menu blends European bistro creations and evolves
into Fresh Barramundi, Grain Fed Rump, Tapas Platters,
Burgers…the range is certainly endless.
Special offers
change regularly, as does the menu given that the
chef’s only work with seasonal produce to bring
you the freshest flavours available. Order lunch over
the phone if your short on time, call ahead and order
corporate platters for your meetings, consider it
a venue for your Christmas function, or simply take
a well deserved break! Walk in, sit down, enjoy lunch
and order a glass of wine. |
