Lifting over 400 vessels a year, Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard operate two shiplifts (also known as travel lifts) as part of our impressive arsenal of machinery.
For someone who hasn’t seen the marina’s 150 tonne machine in action, it’s an inspiring sight to see a 130ft+ superyacht slowly rise out of the water then be transported over to a refit and repair shed. Although this is a very routine procedure, owners feel their boat is most vulnerable when it is being lifted out of the water. You can minimize your apprehension by speaking to an experienced shipyard supervisor or manager.
On site at Gold Coast City Marina & Shipyard, Ryan Leigh-Smith (Shipyard Manager) and Peter Crompton (Shipyard Operations Manager) are a wealth of knowledge and can easily assess your boat and liase with you to work out which machine is most suitable to lift your boat. With two TraveLifts to choose from (150t & 50t) as well as 2 forklifts (10t & 12t), the marina has a solution for most vessels needs.
Once your vessel has been lifted, it is recommended that you take advantage of some of our onsite services, including high-pressure wash of your hull and if necessary, antifoul paint and propspeed application can be arranged by Gold Coast City Marina Staff.
A whole range of services are available to haulout / ship lift customers. Depending on the size of your vessel and your needs, some of these services include: Antifoul paint application, Propspeed application, Refit & Repair sheds, Hardstand, Superyacht Facilities.
